We wanted this particular shade because we had a large area of our backyard that we wanted to cover for hammocks. We got the posts in place and set the eye bolts so we could attach this shade. It worked really well and compared to other sails we have used, it was so much easier to set and get tight because of the D-Ring vs grommets sewn into the sail. The only downside we saw was that in places where the heavy ribbon attached to the sail there were a number of small inconsistencies in the stitching - places where when the sail was unfolded weren’t visible, but when the ribbons were drawn taught became visible. We haven’t seen it affect the sail yet, but it just felt like a quality issue in manufacturing. The shade when hung is breathable, holds up well (when secured well) to the wind (we average 40-45mph gusts on windy days), and does a great job of providing shade to the specific area of coverage. We hung it with a very specific angled pattern so that when it rains, there wasn’t a chance for water to potentially cause a dip in the shade - even though it will let water through, in heavy downpours, we found that the angle promoted runoff where the flat hang would have cause excess weight and stress on the sail due to the water. All in all, it is just what we wanted, and we will see if the stitching becomes a problem as we head into the spring with some more extreme weather days where stitching will determine a lot of the integrity of the sail.
