Permeable Material: Made of 100% brand-new high-density polyethylene knitted fabric, which resists tearing and fading. Note: The fabric is stretchy. The title‘s sizes are for when it's stretched tight. Be sure to fully extend the sail when installing it, or it'll be too small. You could also pick a slightly bigger size
UV Block: The shade cloth can block up to 95% of harmful UV rays, protecting your skin. Radically reducing the heat of hot weather and providing shade. Easy to clean with water
Sturdy Construction: The edges are double-stitched for greater wear resistance, and the D-rings can secure the sunshade sail in any position. Allow 1.5ft for mounting hardware. Recommend the TANG Hardware Kit for optimal durability and shading performance
Curved Edge and Customizable: Our shade sails feature curved sides to enhance pull strength and prevent drooping, which can add 1""-8"" to the side length. The middle center of the sail cover will be shorter in width due to the curves. If you prefer straight edges, please let us know
Outdoor Sunshade: TANG patio cover is ideal for backyard, porch, pergola, pool, pond, deck, courtyard, backyard, dooryard, park, carport, sandbox, driveway, or other outdoor area

Held up for 4 years and did the trick. Still using it but looking for waterproof ones now.Slight rust in d rings and small holes start to form. These are stretched tight and left up through all summer storms.

Reviewed by Stanley D Posted on 7/17/20 Verified Purchase

We bought it to shade the east side of the house as the bedrooms get super warm in the morning and stay that way all day. We have noticed a reduction of heat in the bedrooms so it is working! It is not water proof, it is designed to let water through and that is a great feature; water does not gather on the surface causing puddles above you! Of course, sitting on the swing in a rain shower is not a dry experience. It does allow plenty of light through to the windows while fulfilling its purpose very nicely.

We got it up and used bungee cords to attach it. The bungies let the wind out so it didn’t get ripped to shreds. The bungies are an easy replacement when they finally give out after a season or so. Bungies also make it easy to move/adjust when the sun changes position in the sky.

This shade cools my patio by at least 10 degrees. It's stretched flat across the top of my arbor on the north side of the house. I was worried about mildew forming on it, but it's been up for a few months, and so far so good.

Reviewed by J. Randolph Cooper Posted on 5/14/18 Verified Purchase

I bought this a year ago and starting the second season with it and it's just like new. I do take it down and store it in the winter once it starts cooling off. The trick is to purchase one that is 3-4 feet less than the area size. So my back patio is a 16x20 so the 12x16 fits perfect.Putting an angle on it is great for aesthetics but won't do anything about water pooling in the center during a rain. Another review mentioned it stretching after the initial rain, and that's true but once you do your final adjustment, you're good for the season. I bought all the hardware from Home Depot. I mounted u-bolts on the eaves of the house and posts in the yard. For each corner use a carabiner, 3 foot chain, and a turnbuckle. Open the turn buckle all the way, mount it on the end of the chain closest to the sunsail. Pull the chain as tight as you can get by hand and then turn the turnbuckle so it closes. This will bring it nice and taut. The material does stretch during a rain, but once the material dries it will become tight again. Hope you guys enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

★★★★★★★★★★ Order Small

Reviewed by Tony Stefani Posted on 9/3/17 Verified Purchase

You will be amazed at the difference that these shade sails make. I have 3 sails in various parts of my backyard and would recommend it for an attractive solution vs. a pergola, etc. It took me a couple of attempts to get the correct size. I called Sunshades Depot and they were helpful. Measure the area that you want to cover and then subtract 1.5 to 2 feet off of the length. I use the structure eyebolts and turnbuckles to get the sail tight with no wrinkles. I will add pictures.

This is perfect for over our pool. Not sure about durability or sturdiness yet since it is brand new but seems to be similar to a shade I purchased before that lasted 2 + years.

★★★★★★★★★★ Just installed today!

Reviewed by TKD Fan Posted on 6/30/19 Verified Purchase

Can't rate durability, as we just put it up today. We needed some shade on our deck - this works well for mid-day, but will need to do something on the one side for late afternoon/early evening. That will be our next project! Our deck has no railing, so we lagged a 4x4 to each outside corner. The 2 corners against the house we put eye hooks into the 2x6 fascia board, above the gutter. The sail is curved enough that there is a small gap along the gutter so rain coming off the roof is not impeded. The color is more yellow/golden than I was hoping, I didn't go w/ the more exciting colors like orange or terracotta which would have looked awesome because I feel dark colors absorb the sun and are hotter.

Sags a bit over time but casts a beautiful warm yellow light and keeps the house cooler. By keeping the cement cooler, the rest of the house stays cooler too!
★★★★★★★★★★ Last about a year in the So Cal sun

Reviewed by Amazon Customer Posted on 3/29/24 Verified Purchase

The very first shades I bought lasted two years. Every replacement since then has only lasted a year before getting brittle and tearing apart, so quality has definitely gone down. I really should look elsewhere, except I know these are the exact right size for my space.
★★★★★★★★★★ More like a dark sand

Reviewed by J. Hunt Posted on 5/11/18 Verified Purchase

Decent quality. Should last a few years. Included hardware was not used as I also purchased a hardware kit and my own rope. My main issue is the color. I bought the tan and it is much darker than the photos. More like a dark sand. The photos make it look more like cream. Unfortunately my backyard looks more like a shanty-town with this, than the upscale courtyard I envisioned. I also got the yellow for some contrast, but it attracts a lot of hornets.

For the most part, it works well to provide the needed shade. However, wind stretches the fabric so it sags in the middle. We have taken it down twice so that my wife could sew a seam to shorten it. Next wind storm stretched it again.
