For years, we have been living without a sunshade on our back yard porch because the one we used to have literally "melted" by cooking on a grill beneath it (which was too close). We have a custom-designed framework we needed to fit. This attractive, durable shade 6'x12' is almost perfect! If our frame was a little larger, this would have, ideally, stretched a little more tautly, but I am not complaining. The grommets on the side are great! We basically used twist ties through them to adhere the fabric to the thick, wrought iron frame on our house. I have seen similar fabric with lacing cords sometime in the past and wish this had come with those (so as to weave it with a provided fabric "needle", more securely) yet, the grommets and twist ties work just fine. The fabric is not waterproof and has an open weave. In other words, rain goes right through it, so don't expect to stay dry when standing beneath it, but it does work well as a sun shade (just as advertised) and the wind goes through it too, thus, no upheaval generated against the frame and our house. It really works quite well for our needs and it's soooo good to have sun protection again! (Note: We moved our grill far from this fabric after installation. We will have no more accidents in that regard.)
