The entire system is durable and works as expected. The installation was complex, you will definitely need more than one person to install this. I was concerned as I knew that my location was going to require the tent to be fully extended. It brought enough cable to fully cover the length of my patio (about 20 ft). I don’t get the wavy effect but it is super functional for sunny days and easy to close at night. I did not use the control tape and still works as intended for my case.

Did a great job covering my deck in the summer. You can increase the span between supports (but not the actual coverage) if you get longer cables at your home improvement store. That's what I did and it was no trouble at all.It was also very easy to take down and store now that it's October. I will definitely be putting this back up when spring rolls around. We used this all suummer and it's no worse for the wear. I expect to get many years of use out of this. Great. Really.

These aren't an easy install, exactly. Not complicated, but you'll need at least a step ladder and some patience. Having a level is also useful. Once up, they couldn't be more simple to use.We're going to take them down for the winter, but they seem like they'll take the summer weather just fine.The guide wires are as sturdy as they need to be. Pretty easy to deal with, if you have a level & ladder.We experimented putting them smack against each other, but it doesn't look right nor do they work quite right. Opening or closing one tends to catch the one next to it (as should be expected ;)I really do like the look of them, properly spaced, though, so I'm good with it. I think they're rather classy looking.We got a couple of different size kits so we could put them over both the patio and the dog's nite yard. When I started looking for a retractable roman shade, I sent out to local installers for a quote. The quotes that I received back were in the order of 20x the cost of these. I chose to go with this option instead and am so happy with it! I installed this by myself in approximately two hours. It was simple!A few things to note:- my frame is approximately 16' square. I purchased the 16' long version and you can see the drape in the photo. When you buy, buy to the size of your deck, NOT the total length including the drape!- I'd recommend adding loctite to the D-rings that you add to the top of the shade. I have had 2 of them come loose. You'll still be able to get the shade off by taking off the carabiners.- I'd recommend attaching the cloth strip (that sets the level of drape) to the D-rings, not the carabiners. Frequent opening and closing of the shade can cause damage to the strip via friction otherwise.- I did purchase more heavy duty eye hooks to send the cable through. The ones that were included would likely have been fine, but with 6x6 beams, I could easily support something more sturdy- I replaced the black pull rope that you can see in this photo with a thin metal cable. The rope was just too visibleI am 10/10 happy with this sunshade!

However, ours was missing one d ring. And it has no instructions. We solved it by going back to the amazon site and looking at the picture from the manufacturer. It is beautiful and works great after that.

You need something fairly sturdy to attach this to at both ends so you can have tension on the cable.Provides dappled shade, not full shade.More coverage than an umbrella.Pros:I prefer the manual open close, the ones that have closures like a blind the cord always rots. Not sure how the control tape will hold up this is my one concern with durability.Nice material, but not waterproof, which is actually good as water does not collect and pool on top of it.Can stand some amount of wind, more than say a awning, since the fabric is not solid and the wires have some amount of give.You can adjust the amount of drape (how far it hangs down) with the control tape.Cons:Check for all the hardware before starting. Was missing wire clips.Getting the cable taut is a bit of a struggle, even with the turnbuckle.

I received the TANG Upgraded Slide on Wire Canopy Retractable Awning Replacement Cover for Pergola Terrace Deck Patio Porch Restaurant Cafe’ Beige 7'X16' Size.This was kind of a pain to install and takes 2 persons to do it. We decided to use heavier duty bolts.After installation, the Shade Cover looked quite nice and gave good shade. Unfortunately, this item is NOT meant to handle much in the case of wind. Even with it being slid back to the wall and secured, it could not handle a big spring thunder storm that came up last week and tore it down.Pretty much the same thing also happened to the other similar, but different brand of shade cover, that we has set up at the other end of our deck too.Our conclusion is that this style of shade cover is not able to handle storms that have strong winds. You would need to completely take down the cover fabric when storms come. For us, the storms came up to fast and we just could not take the fabric down without risk of injury to ourselves. For areas that do not get high winds, these would be awesome Shade Covers!
