(The area between house and the drop of the material from gutter / end of eave overhang is concrete slab. If it were dirt I may not have overheated the roses. The brown color fits in just fine. It does block alot of light so if you don't mind a slightly dimmer interior it's better to use actual window screen.The upside for me was that here in Arizona in the summer time these denser window screens also kept the inside of my home noticeably cooler; which in turn kept me from having the AC or Evap cooler on all the time.
